Energy Losses in Pipe Apparatus

Model: ASC-00302                         Make: PAK

Description
This accessory allows the demonstration of losses incurred in various pipe features, including bends, sudden contractions, sudden enlargements, and a representative control valve. The apparatus includes a mitre bend, a 90° elbow, short and long bends, sudden contraction, and sudden enlargement. Each component is fully instrumented with pressure tappings at both upstream and downstream points. A bank of 12 water manometer tubes, affixed to the framework, visually illustrates pressure drop profiles. The equipment, mounted on a standalone framework, supports the test pipework and instrumentation. All pipe fittings are connected to the water manometer tubes for pressure measurement, and their pressurization is facilitated by a hand pump. Flow rate control is achieved through a gate valve, and another instrumented gate valve, with upstream and downstream pressure tappings, is connected to a differential gauge on the framework’s edge. The entire unit is positioned on the working top of the hydraulics bench, serving as the water supply source.
